Hi, I’m Maxwell! I’m a professor with a severe peanut allergy. I love to travel and often go to conferences in cool places. As someone with a food allergy, it’s sometimes difficult trying to find safe places to eat. I often find myself researching restaurants before hand as part of my travel preparation. I decided to help alleviate some of the workload for those who have allergies similar to me.
When I was four years old, I had a life threatening anaphylactic reaction to peanuts. The anxiety that it created stuck with me all throughout my childhood. As I grew older, I decided that I would not let food allergy anxiety limit myself from experiencing all that life has to offer. I love to travel, go to new places, and meet new faces. I wasn’t going to let my food allergy stop me. Instead of letting peanuts make me the nutty professor, I decided to choose another path; thus, the no nut professor blog post was born.
This blog is dedicated to those with food allergies. I’m sure many can relate with the difficulties that it creates, both if you have a food allergy or know someone with a food allergy. Food allergies can be limiting only if we let them be. We deserve to experience life in its fullest. It is my intention for this blog to serve as another contribution to the online community of food allergies, and serve as inspiration for others who are like me.
